This letter transmits amendments to Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) rule 5101:2-9-25. This rule is being amended to extend housing and services for residents who are 18 years of age and to meet the five year rule review. The rule will be effective January 1, 2024.

The following is a brief summary of the changes and additions.

OAC 5101:2-9-25 entitled Residential parenting facility and crisis care facility location and programmatic requirements provides guidance to agencies on the requirements of a residential parenting facility. The rule has been amended to include expectant minor mothers and to allow an agency to maintain residents to the age of nineteen. This will allow greater flexibility in providing services to the residents.
