This Procedure Letter identifies changes to the Monthly Adoption Assistance Statewide Maximum (MAASM) waiver request process. Effective December 17, 2020, a waiver request is no longer required when an agency negotiates a subsidy payment above the MAASM, providing the payment agreed upon does not exceed the child’s cost of care as outlined in Ohio Administrative Code 5101:2-49-05. The agency will be required to document the justification as to why the amount is over the MAASM in the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS).
