Background:
On April 1, 2021, in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Ohio
Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) implemented permanent
transitional pandemic rules to ensure that children continued to be safe in child
care settings. These rules reflected guidance from the Ohio Department of
Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The transitional family child care pandemic rule was to be in
effect until the Governor of Ohio rescinded the state of emergency and/or
directed ODJFS to return to full child care center requirements.
The state of emergency was rescinded on June 18, 2021. The
following rule will be archived and removed from the child care manual on July
30, 2023.
Rescinded Rule:
5101:2-13-02.2 "Transitional Pandemic Requirements for a
Licensed Family Child Care Provider"
