Background:
The publicly funded child care (PFCC) income eligibility
standards are updated annually after the release of the Federal Poverty
Guidelines (FPL) by the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
Implementation of New Income Eligibility
Standards:
The Ohio Benefits integrated eligibility system has been updated
to include the October 1, 2023, income eligibility standards. All applications,
recertifications and case updates that are effective on or after October 1,
2023, are based on these new standards.
The monthly income standards are as follows:

These amounts are determined using the 2023 Federal Poverty
Guidelines as published in the Federal Register on January 19, 2023. If the
family size is above 8, add $5,140 to the annual income for each additional
household member.
Note: Transitional child care allows a
person up to 12 months of new or continuing PFCC benefits during their
transition out of Ohio Works First when their income is at or below 150% of the
FPL.
Copayment Desk Aid: The family
copayment desk aid has been updated based on the new income eligibility
standards. The new desk aid is attached to this letter.
