Background:
In June of 2020, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services
(ODJFS) began providing pandemic support payment grants to assist with costs
associated with the pandemic. These grants
ended in September 2020. In December
2020, Congress passed the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental
Appropriations Act of 2021. The Act provided Ohio with funding to help support
programs with the pandemic. On May 17,
2021, Governor Mike DeWine signed Senate Bill 109 of the 134th General Assembly
allowing for the appropriation of these funds to programs licensed under
Chapter 5104. of the Revised Code. As a
result, the following payment framework has been established.
Support:
Child care centers licensed by the Ohio Department of Job and
Family Services, who are not currently in enforcement, are eligible for this one-time
payment. The payments are based on the program’s star rating AND license
capacity. The license capacity is
reflected on the license and includes private pay children and children
eligible for publicly funded child care. This one-time payment is intended to support
providers with program operational expenses related to the impacts of COVID-19.
The payments will be allocated based on the following payment

Application, Payment & Reconciliation
There is no process to apply.
All eligible programs will be issued a payment. Processing of payments
will begin the week of July 19, 2021. There is no reconciliation process
required for this payment.
