Background:
Effective May 31, 2020 licensed child care programs were able to
reopen with reduced ratios. Effective August
9, 2020 licensed child care programs were able to return to pre-pandemic ratios
and class sizes. Through this transition,
Governor DeWine has allocated $90 million in grant funding to assist providers
in responding to COVID-19 and to support providers who maintained lower ratios
and class sizes. From June through
September, more than $81 million in grant support has been issued to more than
3,300 providers.
